Virginia Academy/The Ark Preschool is pleased to announce that we are on the School’s Out website to alert parents when we are experiencing weather related issues. Virginia Academy/The Ark Preschool will post a message about any closing or delays due to inclement weather on this website. All messages are relevant to both the Ashburn and Sterling campuses.
To access our message board, please go to: http://www.schoolsout.com and click on “Find Your School”. Search and click on “Virginia”, this will show a list of Private Schools in the state of Virginia. Scroll down and click on “Virginia Academy/The Ark Preschool” for our message board. This website offers free email alerts called “School’s Out Basic Service”. Additional services are available at this website.
Virginia Academy/The Ark Preschool follows the Loudoun County Public Schools System. Parents and staff can also subscribe through the Loudoun County Public School Alert System. This is a free service that sends messages to your email and/or your cell phone about Loudoun County Schools. These messages are general messages from Loudoun County and do not give specific details about Virginia Academy/The Ark Preschool. To register for the Loudoun Alert system, go to www.loudoun.k12.va.us and click on the “Closing and Delay Information”.
In the Event Loudoun County Schools are closed:
Virginia Academy will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for students enrolled in our extended care program.
*** You must bring a bag lunch and 2 snacks for you child ***
If the Federal Government closes we will remain open one hour past the announcement.
In the event Federal Government is closed:
Virginia Academy is Closed - no Pre-School- no Extended Care.
Loudoun County Schools are delayed 1 hour:
Virginia Academy will open one hour late. Both locations will open at 7:30 a.m. School will begin at 9:30 a.m. Students not enrolled in A.M. care may arrive as early as 9:00 a.m.
Loudoun County Schools are delayed 2 hours:
Virginia Academy will open two hours late. Both locations will open at 8:30 a.m. School will begin at 10:30 am. Students not enrolled in A.M. care may arrive as early as 10:00 am.
Important Note:* Childcare on inclement weather days is provided to full time pre-school students and elementary students already enrolled in the aftercare program.
